August 2001
2nd The Chao Phraya River Club at the Boathouse presents Rural Life Art Exhibition by Jintana Piamsiri (Mixed media). Thursday, Mom Tri's Boathouse, Kata Beach until 31 August.
4th Annual Plant and Flower Fair - Final Day, Saturday, Saphan Hin, Phuket Town, from 9 am to 10 pm. There will be hundreds of different varieties of flowers, trees, vegetables and herbs on display.
12th HM The Queen's Birthday Celebrations
On this auspicious occasion, homes and public buildings throughout the Kingdom are decorated with glittering fairy lights as an expression of reverence and loyalty to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Half-Marathon Charity Run organised by the Suan Luang Club in honour of the Queen's birthday. There will be a 21-km half-marathon (Costs 250 baht), a 10.5-km mini-marathon (200 baht) and a 3.5-km fun run (100 baht). Register at the park or Phuket Bike Shop and the run starts 5am.
September 2001
15th - 16th Phuket Food & Beverage Show at Karon Royal Wing Hotel. Highlight will be the Southern Bartenders contest showcasing bottle juggling and cocktail-mixing skills, a Miss Cocktail Contest and an ice-carving competition. For details phone (66 76) 324 333.
21st - 25th The Korlae Boat Racing & Narathiwat Produce Festival at Bang Nara River, Narathiwat, Southern Thailand is an exciting event that features traditional boat races and dove cooing contests, produce and local handicrafts.

17th - 21st Phuket Vegetarian Festival Venue: Phuket Town, Kathu and Thalang. During the festival, thousands of participants adopt a strict vegetarian diet to purify body and mind so they can take part in sacred rituals. Piercing of the body and face with sharp objects and walking barefooted on hot charcoal are all done in the belief that good health and spiritual peace will be attained. 19th - 21st Phon Drum Beating Contest & Buddha Image Procession Venue : The Provincial Hall and Saensuklampam Beach, Phatthalung, Southern Thailand. Also includes a decorative boat competition.
November 2001
10th The 8th Laguna Phuket Triathlon starts at 8 am. The race will comprise a 1.8-km swim, a 55-km cycle ride, and a 12-km run. The entry fee is US$120. Entries close on October 15. December 2001
