Otowa on Kalim Beach Road, north end of Patong. Tel 344-254, is an elegant restaurant right on the rocky shoreline serving Japanese barbecue specialties, sashimi and sushi. At Le Meridien, Relax Bay is Ariake, specialising in sashimi, sushi and shabu-shabu,. Setting is a typical Japanese garden with private Tatami Rooms, Teppanyaki Table and Sushi bar also available. Kiko Japanese Restaurant located at the Diamond Cliff Resort in Patong is a homely Japanese restaurant serving sushi, sashimi, Teppanyaki and other authentic Japanese foods. One of the favourites of locally resident Japanese people and tourists alike when seeking that authentic Japanese taste. Open 11 am. - 3 pm. & 6.30-11 pm.

French

The Green Man Pub & Restaurant, a real pub with great atmosphere and their own celebrity chef. Serving wide selection of pubgrub downstairs and gourmet ProvenÇal cuisine at The Carte Blanche restaurant upstairs.
Café Java, just off the main highway at Kamala Beach, serve a good selection of home style French cooking in hefty portions at a reasonable price. Also has a bar and pool table. In Patong, try La Reserve along Raj-U-Thit Road, opposite Bangkok Bank or La Mousson, around the corner along Sawatdirak Road. Upmarket prices for both, with a mixture of nouvelle and provincial cuisine, and a good wine selection.

Italian

La Trattoria at the Dusit Laguna Hotel Bang Tao Bay, serves sophisticated Italian haute cuisine. Nearby at the Sheraton Laguna, Ferns, a northern Italian restaurant, features a mouthwatering menu that offers a highly satisfying alternative to Asian cuisine.

Pizzeria Napoli along Soi Post Office, Beach Road, Patong serves pizza and good Italian dishes (homemade lasagna, cannelloni and tortellini pasta). Reasonable prices. Open daily 12.30-11.30pm.

Toto Laguna serves classical Italian fare from Tuscany at the ever-effervescent Bepy's second Phuket restaurant at the entrance to Laguna Phuket.
Ristorante de Giorgio & Malee Seafood situated near Soi Bangla in Patong (Tel: 341 193) is the place to enjoy authentic Italian and seafood cuisine right on the main beach road. Open daily 7am-midnight.

Pizzedelic located at 128 Thaweewong Road (Tel: 341 545), serves great pizza and was the first, and is the best, place for internet access on Patong Beach. While surfing the web, enjoy a cool drink, great food, noisy and friendly waitresses. E-mail service, surfing, chat, ICQ, printing service, computer work etc... all of these are at your disposal, with assistance provided if needed.

British/Irish

On Chalong-Kata hill road, traditionally built English Tudor pub, The Green Man Pub & Restaurant, a local pub for residents and great place for tourists to find out what is good on the Island.
Molly Malones is an Irish Pub along beach road in the heart of Patong. Serving good pub fare for very reasonable prices, friendly service and great live performances by Irish bands nightly.

Indian

Navrang Mahal, 58/11 Bangla Road, Soi Patong (Tel: 292280). Serving a variety of curries, tandoors, nan and roti, including vegetarian dishes, this restaurant is great value and a fantastic alternative to Asian cuisine. Set menus allow you to sample a variety of things, or choose directly from the a la carte menu. Baluchi at the Horizon Beach Resort Hotel on Soi Kep Sap off Thaweewong Road in Patong, features a mixed Asian/Western menu, including a range of Indian dishes. A quiet intimate verandah setting in this small hotel, makes dining here a pleasurable experience. Prices are reasonable. Tel: 292526/30
